Board of Education Robert Gamboeg Robert Pitts, Vice President: Doris Dury, Presi- dentg Richard Kurtzg John Lougheed The Board of Education is comprised of five interestepd and dedicated citizens from our school. These members meet once a month with the Executive Head, Mr. Harps- ter, to formulate school policy and provide educational facilities and staff. They have the big responsibility of representing the community's interest in the vast undertaking of education. Decisions must be made and the board's decisions are always made after careful thought. We had a change in board members this year. Mr. Kenneth Critch- field and Mr. Thorp were replaced by Bob Gamble and John Lougheed. Mr. Richard Oxender is the clerk for the school board this year. Another important group in the intricate operation onour school is our secretaries. Sound Administration - nv..- 3 0 s 1, 'S RICHARD K. HARPSTER, Superintendent Mr. Richard K. Harpster has completed his third year at North Central. During these three years many changes have been made in the facilities and curriculum. A new school ad- dition for the elementary and kindergarten was under construc tion during the summer and put into use at the beginning of the 1968 year. New cafeterias were added to both the Kunkle and Pioneer buildings. A large athletic field is under construc- tion and is expected to be in use next year. These have been the most important accomplishments in the 1967-68 school year, along with new books, desks, clock system, new library with a large variety of books, repairs on the auditorium, new typewriters, and a rearrangement of classrooms. It has made the educational system at North Central a more stable and up-to-date system. And lastly, it has given us a bigger and more secure step into the coming future of North Central. Paul Ladd received his B. S. from Defiance College and his M. S. from the University of To- ledo. Besides being piincipal, he is also an athletic director and student council advisor. Russell Oxender has completed his fourth year as Jr. High Principal. He holds a B. S. and an M. A. from Ohio State University. He assisted with the guidance program and makes sure the Stu- dents enter High School on the right foot with ambition and determination.
