The ancient Greek Philosophers, unlike their modern counterparts, judged the moral worth of a person not simply by his or her ability to follow a rule, a prin- ciple, or a law but by the kind of life that person led, by the virtues he or she exemplified. Hank Skoglund has always held the Greek philosophers in high es- teem, both intellectually and practical- ly, and he has exemplified the virtues of wisdom, courage, temperance, and jus- tice as a teacher, a colleague, a friend, a father, and a husband. lt is to him we dedicate this volume. Plato and Aristot- le would have been quite proud.

we 'my i 'Yu-.'t'?-Q F 5 .Q'tLf, ' 1? 'ff' Homecoming opened with a golf outing at Fox Bend Golf Club. Follow- ing the outing was the first annual Homecoming 1-2-3 Mile Fun Run. On Saturday evening a Pre-Game Tailgate was held at Merner Fieldhouse parking lot. The annual Tug of War, where the battle of the underclass- men takes place, saw the Freshman as victors. Saturday night North Central College Cardinals faced the Milliken By Blue. Other Homecom- ing week activities included M'A'S'H Blood Drive, Cider Social, NCAA Division lll defending national champion cross country team three mile time trials, bonfire, NCC Women's volleyball invitational tournament.
