South Pacific, this year's Winter Musical. was considered by many one of the best musical productions put on at N.C.C. in recent memory. Presented by the N.C.C. Theatre Guild and music department, the 39 member cast performed during the final two weekends of February. The action takes place at a U.S. Navy Base on a South Pacific Island during World War II. V .. ,pw Winter Carnival '82 was a success dis- pite Old Man Winter. On Sunday the scheduled sleighride and bonfire was cancelled due to blizzard type condi- tions. On Monday, the Blood Drive was cancelled because of a mix-up of the date, however the cookie social went on as planned. Tuesday night the Men's Basketball team defeated Car- thage and Midnight Bowling rounded out the evening. The Winter Softball Tournament was held on Wednesday. On Thursday students enjoyed a mixer dance, with music provided by Just Lls. Once again on Friday bad weath- er struck and the ski trip to Lake Gene- va was called off. The week ended with a Turnabout Dance at the Naper- ville Sheraton. The week's activities were organized by chairperson Mary Kay Valdez with help from Toni Alessi, Kurt Kamradt.
