In 1962, the Modern Jazz Quartet appeared at NCC with a full program of their arrangements. Narrator for the '62 Christmas Concert was radio and TV celebrity Franklin Mac- Cormack. He is currently the host of the All Night Showcase in Chicago. For the NCC Concert, he narrated the Song of Christmas. 24 SPECIAL CAMPUS EVENTS . . BRING VARIETY TO US Pfeiffer Hall at North Central College is the scene of a variety of special events - operas, iazz, dramas, and eminent speakers. During the 1962-63 college year, four outstanding programs were: The Purdue Glee Club, Josh White, Segovia CConcert Guitaristj, and Bennett Cerf. Following the events, special re- ceptions were held in the Student Union. There, stu- dent and performer could meet and converse. Other types of programs appear in Pfeiffer Hall dur- ing the college Chapel Hour. Such men as John Chiardi, Carter Davidson, and Len O'Connor graced the NCC stage. Students of NCC not only have Chicago at their fingertips, they, also, have enter- tainment brought to them.

An international beauty, Chris was born in China, raised in Japan, lived in Germany and France, and fortunately for NCC came to the US for her college A education. Chris is a French and elementary education maior who plans to teach in 7 the US and gain her Amer- ican citizenship. Eventually, she hopes to return to Ja- pan to teach.
