President The Athletic Board of Control is composed of five faculty members: Coaches Fisher and Bieber, Miss Tanner, and Professors Domm and Erffmeyerg and three members of the student body. The student members are the presidents of the Men's and Women's Athletic Associations and one representative from the Student Council. In the hands of this group lies North Central's entire athletic program and policy. Conforming to the high athletic standards of the newly formed Illinois Collegiate Con- ference and being governed by the board in school policy, North Central has been able to rank high in intercollegiate athletics Without placing too much emphasis upon this phase of college life. Faculty Representative Among the things that the council lists as accomplishments for this year are the estab- lishment of a better pep program and an award for cheer leaders, student representation on the curriculum committee, revision of student election procedure, the establishment of a Second-hand book exchange, and the beginning of a movement for the improvement of commuter facilities. The events of the opening Week of school did much to get the new students acquainted with North Central and its traditions. In October the Council held a retreat at which they outlined the year's program. This was unprecedented and may become a regular event. THE STUDENT COUNCIL
