Thanksgivingg turkey in the cafeteria and then a few days vacation. The snow comes, and so do the half- semester grades. A dance on Friday night: girls in the center while North students stalk the perimeter, the basketball hoops look on. Christmas comes, and with it, not a flake of snow. New Year's Eve . . . then day 1972. Monday morning arrives . . . back to school. The semester tests loom ahead . . . cram. February arrives and the ski addicts- race to the slopes. The seniors relax and take up a new pastime, watching the mail. Nothing doing. The days are painfully long, and yet, they accumu- late quickly and the weeks pass unnoticed.

A calculus student hunches over a formidable ar- ray of strewn papers gorged with disorgan- ized scribblings. An occasional English student sits in the back of the room, trying to align the thoughts of a thou- sand diverse thinkers with the thoughts of just one: his own. Spring finally returns.
