The Classical Honor Society consisted of Sophomore, Junior, and Senior Latin students who maintained honor grades in that subject. Diocesan meetings were held monthly. At this time different facets of the Latin lan- guage and culture were discussed. Robert Krebs, Presi- dent of the North Catholic contingent, was elected Vice President of the Diocesan Classical Honor Society. Service was the purpose of the North Catholic Art Club. 'llhis club, one of the oldest in the extra-curricular group, played a vital role in the functioning of the school. North Catholic can be justifiably proud of it. Q. .. .J .. Mathematics Honor Boys whose marks were above average in mathematics and who ex- pressed a special interest in the field, found expression tor this interest in the Mathematics Honor Society. Meet- ings were held once a month in the various diocesan schools. At these meetings students presented various mathematical topics and displays. Guest speakers were sometimes tea- tured. Every member was required to produce one lengthy paper on some phase of mathematics sometime dur- ing the year. Schroetifel. 1 -.1 Radio Club For the men of Troy with an electronic bent, the Radio Club provided weekly instructions in basic theory, consisting in lectures by the moderator followed by lab work on some twenty different pieces of electronic equipment. At mid-year the officers: P. Wagener, A. Gerst, T. Cimperman, and W. Wesver, organized the thirty members from all four divi- sions into special hobby projects. Ham enthusiasts, E. Fertig, KCIGCQ, and T. Cimperman, KBJRC, inter- ested others in the club station KSBEP, and conducted courses for prospective amateur radio opera- tors. 1 . 83
