It is a job, however, that must be done if this great city and nation of ours is to continue to progress. If we may judge the worth of our teachers .by their devotion to the daily grind of instruction and correction, we must conclude that Northihas been fortunate in securing the services of the faculty of 1951-52. Where a faculty manifests such iiiterest and enthusiasm in its work, society must inevitably benefit. So much effort cannot go unrewarded. Bro. 5 oe 3 -rn The activities, numerous in type and catering to every interest, extended to all students the opportunity of giving a little of themselves to the school. In this way the activi- ties fostered a deeper appreciation for and a more profound interest in the undertakings of North. In every activity, from literary work to dancing, we had the instruction, guidance and cooperation of the faculty. Many hours of free time were given by the various moderators to the different activities. To them we extend our sincere thanks for giving us a chance to perfect our abilities in those enterprises to which we were naturally inclined. We are grateful to our teachers for letting us benefit from their experience and skill. t , -avg ight -f '77 Ili T- 4 Y sos Bro. If the talk in front of the class turned out to be less than eloquent, if the math problems were a jumble of unrelated phrases and numbers: if the corrected compositions indicated that a red pencil had been worn out on them, our teachers encouraged us tactfully. During these unhappy periods we awakened to the fact that with a little more time and effort no difficulty was insurmountable. A bad report card, along with a well deserved verbal beating from our parents, accompanied by missing a dance or two, was the ideal method used to remind us that business comes before pleasure.

At the end of our formal secondary training, we feel that we have gone a long way in achieving this ideal. We are now ready to be put to the test, whether in college or in our chosen avocation. We have confidence that we can weather whatever storms lie ahead without suffering shipwreck. Our course has been setg our instruments are in working orderg we have all that we need to reach port safely. The old mariners have taught us how to captain our ships. The life of a religious teacher is one of active work and con- templationg of active work in the classroom, and of con- templation at the feet of Christ.
