5 oe 3 -rn The activities, numerous in type and catering to every interest, extended to all students the opportunity of giving a little of themselves to the school. In this way the activi- ties fostered a deeper appreciation for and a more profound interest in the undertakings of North. In every activity, from literary work to dancing, we had the instruction, guidance and cooperation of the faculty. Many hours of free time were given by the various moderators to the different activities. To them we extend our sincere thanks for giving us a chance to perfect our abilities in those enterprises to which we were naturally inclined. If the talk in front of the class turned out to be less than eloquent, if the math problems were a jumble of unrelated phrases and numbers: if the corrected compositions indicated that a red pencil had been worn out on them, our teachers encouraged us tactfully. During these unhappy periods we awakened to the fact that with a little more time and effort no difficulty was insurmountable. A bad report card, along with a well deserved verbal beating from our parents, accompanied by missing a dance or two, was the ideal method used to remind us that business comes before pleasure.
