Q Mr. Donald R. Graham John H. Grote, S.M. Mr. Robert Hast Directing Ilnr Aetinn toward Better Living On other occasions their mementoes were more severe. The humiliation of a well deserved report, coupled with the unpleasant thought of parental retaliation, often served to keep our feet on the straight and narrow way. In our activities the guidance and encouragement of our skilful and willing moderators served to round out our education with practical experience in the fields of our choice. In the activities, also, they have given unsparingly of their time to instill in the minds of all willing to learn, the principles of self-reliance, uprightness and cooperation with our fellowmen, so much to be desired in high school, unexpendable in society. Eberhart S M William M Fackovec S M Enouuraging in the Pursuit oi llur Goal During our underclass period at North Catholic, our thoughts of graduation and the subsequent years were ineffective as an incentive for hard study and continuous preparation. They were forgotten and nearly lost in the urge for good times and carefree moments. Now as seniors we are forever grateful that we were never permitted to lose complete sight of our goal. At times our reminders were subtle or private, an encouraging word-a mild remonstra- tion. Our guides were constant in bringing to our observance the importance of living up to the standards demanded, and afforded us every opportunity to atone for careless or inaccurate work. Rev. Julius A. Falk, S.M. John P. Gilfether, S.M. 5-f 'ian

Our experience in high school activities will be applicable to the game of life. They did not neglect our spiritual side, even in our extracurricular activity. Foremost among the activities in the minds of both faculty and students was the Marianist Sodality. There they strived successfully to turn the minds of the Catholic lay leaders of the future towards the Blessed Mother. Through their patient instruction they have kindled a fiame of love for the Blessed Virgin in our hearts that will always glow bright. Mr. J. William Kerns Mr. George Kisiday ., Z av' Mr. Harry J.
