Roger Taylor, Admissions Counselor I find that my position as Admissions Counselor at North Carolina Wes- leyan has been a valuable experience, in that it has afforded me an opportu- nity for exploration-exploration of people and places. Thus, my job has proved to enlighten as well as in- tensify my perspective, all of which for me, is another important and nec- essary step towards reaching maturity. fvs. wr-inhuman- f ' 1 'L,m:auwm' .at4 if B2- .Est it1':i':.f'fiE'5-E5J?:i'.'FV W l 1 ,,, M, .. ,M l.W.E. loyner Director of Public Relations In essence, the role of a public rela- tions officer is to present the vitality and vigor of the student body and the college to the general public through the use of all media possible-news- papers, television, radio, alumni newsletters and information bulletins, We attempt to utilize every avenue leading to this goal-to inform the public both regionally and distant about Wesleyan College. 20 As a private college admissions coun- selor, I find my tasks have been more difficult because of our rapid chang- ing society. Even with innovative and forward looking programs, Wesleyan is like other private institutions finding their product harder to market due to rising cost and declining interest for a liberal arts education. -.J-tn.--if .zrzr , , The tasks of the office of the Dean of Students are many. They range from taking care ot honors, assisting in printing the Bishops L.A.W., and su- pervising orientation, to helping new students in adjusting to campus life. I feel however, that the students' great- est need is filled by the little things that we do. This job entails more than helping students take advantage of what Wesleyan offers academically, it involves providing an atmosphere in which students can learn more about living with their fellow men, thereby finding their niche in life. I' , by s 14:1 Sarah Alexander, Assistant Dean of Students gt. X it - --,4 tar 4 fi ef Q ll William Carlow, Registrar and Director of Admissions As Director of Student Aid I have to file appropriate applications and re- ports to agencies such as the federal government who supply a majority of student aid. And l feel that the job and what I do is important because about 35120 of our students are receiv- ing financial aid and most of these students would not be able to attend without it. As director of placement I think we are providing some good, current, and usable information in jobs and post-educational material for our own students, And l'm some- what disappointed by the lack of par- ticipation by the majority of seniors. XL As Registrar and Director of Admis- sions my relationship with students begins before they enter Wesleyan and usually does not end when they leave or graduate. Even though this causes my role to be very broad in nature I feel that service to the stu- dent is my most important function. .vii TTT . - lt -L p U li Qi Alvin Horne, Director of Financial Aid DY- l0S9Ph M3CPh9f50f'- Uhfaflfm I9 'c '- -:r'.- .e 'f W' - A - , . - .. - . . .
