PRODU p The science of agriculture is finding increasing application on the farms, in manufacturing plants, in processing plants, and in the entire network of sales and distribution of agri- cultural products in North Carolina. No longer does agricul- tural science apply only to farms. Men trained in the biological sciences and agricultural sciences are finding employment in a wide variety of professional, industrial, and farming activi- ties. The graduates of the School of Agriculture are molding many of the changes which are taking place so rapidly and which are building a greater North Carolina. Likewise, they are finding their place in other parts of the nation as leaders in their respective fields. The mule and plow can no longer characterize agriculture. The agricultural leaders of today are those with mastery of chemistry, the biological scien ces, agricultural business management, agricultural engineering, public policy and the techniques of efficient plant and animal production, processing and marketing. The young men and women of North Carolina have the talent and the School of Agriculture provides the training. Throughout the state and nation there is a demond and a willingness to pay for those with both the talent and the training. [17]
