JUSTUS M. AMMONS President FARM HOUSE WIGGINS BROWN OFFICERS JUSTUS AMMONS President EUGENE PICKLER Vice President TALMADGE WIGGINS Secretary EDWARD BROWN Treasurer Farmhouse is a national, non-Greek letter, social fraternity. The first chapter was established in 1905 at the University of Missouri. Seven men conceived the idea of Farmhouse at having in mind the development of a social fraternity which would maintain high morals, develop outstanding leadership qualities, strive for high scholastic achievements and provide a home for worthy agricultural students while in college. With these definite objectives to reach the motto, Builder of Men, was adopted for the fraternity. The national scope of Farmhouse now includes 14 active chapters. All of these groups have continued to carry out the high ideals set forth by the mother chapter. Each year almost every Farmhouse ranks first in scholarship among the other fraternities on their respective campuses. The North Carolina Farmhouse Club was formally installed on May 15, 1954, and its charter as the thirteenth chapter of Farmhouse Fraternity. Since its beginning on the State College campus in 1952 the organization has gained prestige through demonstrated ability in scholarship, leadership, intramurals and joint fraternity functions.
