And now it was here, and the Greeks enjoyed it for a few hours . . . then it was over, becoming just another memory. Baby, it ' s cold outside was never more true than tonight because the mercury dropped to a low 20. The favorite expression was Have you checked your anti-freeze?!

Woody leads the band, providing tender moods for late hours. crushed corsages and sore feet . . Everyone was dressed up. The boys in their new or newly rented tuxes-bow ties, black shoes and scattered boutonnieres gave them a distinguished look. The girls poured themselves into their seldom-used formals. With bare shoulders, stockings and high heels they waited for their one-and-only Greek to arrive. When they reached the dance, out came the corsages to be delicately placed on the feminine form. Everybody made sure he looked his best—and the dance started. Like most dances this one took on the atmosphere of a sedate Viennese Ball at the beginning. As the dance however, the atmosphere relaxed—dancers danced closer, co rsages became crushed, feet tired, thoughts tender. That ' s how it was the night of December 4th at State College. Tuning up for the party after the dance . . . laughs tender moments . . all greek
