Every Sep- tember he is the first to welcome the freshmen. It is through his talks that the new members are taught the ways and methods of this institution. It is to him that they bring their troubled minds. In the office of the Dean of Students is kept the record of every individual student. THE A ' GIRO N lECIKI The School of Agriculture Beginning a generation ago on a very small scale, the School of Agriculture has grown until today it embraces the following important divisions: (a) Agronomy, including Field Crops. Soils. Plant Breedings and Agriculture Engineering: (b) Animal Industry, including Animal Production. Animal Nutrition, Dairy Production, and Dairy Manufacturing: (c) Botany, including Bacteriology. Plant Physiology, and Plant Disease: (d) Horticulture, includ- ing Pomology. Small Fruit Culture, Floriculture, Truck Farming, and Landscape Architecture; (e) Forestry: (f) Poultry Science, including Poultry Disease, Poultry Breeding. Poultry Feeding, and Poultry Management; (g) Zoology, including Gen- etics. Entomology, and Animal Physiology. The purpose of the Agriculture School is three- fold: ( 1) To secure through scientific research, ex- perimentation, and demonstration accurate and reliable information relating to soils, plants, and animals, and to secure from every available source reliable statistical, technical, and scientific data relating to every phase of agriculture that might be of advantage to our state: (2) to provide instruction in college for young men who desire to enter the field of general agriculture, or wish to become professionals in agriculture education or specialists in any field of science related to agri- culture, and (3) to disseminate reliable information through publications and through extension agents, and through a wise use of this information to give instruction to the agriculture workers of the state in the scientific, experimental, and practical progress in , c tiM.n ... 1. w. oCHAUB the various lines of agriculture.
