JUNIORS I doubted if I should ever come back . . . Dear Mom and Dad, Sorry I haven ' t written in a while. You know how things get at school. The list of things to do is never-ending. I ' m in a nostalgic mood, so I ' m writing this letter. Remember when at the beginning of the year when I ' d call you every day and write a 5-page letter every other ? I was so homesick! Yep, I can remember some of those initial bad times: roommate problems, massive workload, lack of Mom ' s food, little freedom, Tuesday Evening Series on nights that I had not even begun my homework. What if I had gone the well- traveled road at my old high school? What would it have been like? Orientation Week gave us a chance to get to know this special place and these wonderful people. It seems only yesterday that I walked down the hall not knowing anyone, but seeing a warm, open smile on every face. It was only days before we began to know each other, and all my tears turned to dust. We all became so close during the course of the year — living, learning (sometimes, struggling), eating (wow, some of those deep conversations at dinner debating and sharing our joys and sorrows together. All together. I know now I chose the right roai This is just the beginning, for the road of learning never ends. And I ' ll be back next year to continue my travels. Signed, A junior at NCSSM P.S. I miss you. P.P.S. Please send some chocolate chip cookies. Everybody loves then 20 Faces
