The purpose of Ex-Umbra is to promote student interest in the liberal arts, stimulate the student bod{j toward free, artful expression, enlighten and lend a more sophisticated atmosphere to the Uniuersity communit];. and to create a forum wherebi; student talent ma j be given recognition. Ex-Urnbra is latin for Out of the shadows . This name was chosen because the members of the organization feel that the creative students at NCCU are too much in the shadows , and they need to be brought out into the light where their fellow students, can recognize and enjo ; their work.
