Mrs. Carol Muir and Mr. Steve Dolansky joined their forces. Members honored retirees Mr. Charles McNulty and Mr. Michael Elias. Guided by President Dabella, Directors negotiated in record time the 1974-76 contract with NCEA. Directors successfully coped with the energy crisis, shortages, and other problems. The administration’s main concerns were the progress of the new elementary building, relocating personnel, and preparing for Middle States evaluation. Northern Cambria Band under the direction of Paul Walker was one of Nonhem Cambria’s most highly active and successful organizations. Band members were always working toward a goal. The band helped promote school spirit this year by participating in pep rallies and organizing a pep band for the girls’ basketball games. During the summer the band attended a parade at Youngsville and the colorguard and band both took first place. Students of NC are very proud of their band. The Emanon staff sponsored Moth Ball Memory Day which was one of the major events of this school year. The eighth grade staff members sent apples to all teachers during American Education Week. Gymnastics The annual Gymnastics Show this year was sponsored by Miss Beth Ludwig. The students participating practiced every day all year to make this show one of the best. Student Government 1973-74 Student Council reached out to all the students and even touched the lives of many in the community. SG sponsored a state police safety program, visited the hospital during Christmas, helped with the Muscular Distrophy campaign and reorganized the school’s election system. Forensics 1973-74 brought a new academic, competitive sport to NC: Forensics Club, under the direction of Miss Kaydcn. Many ribbons and honors were bestowed on its participants, but the experience gained through public speaking was the greatest prize of all. The organization of Forensics was one of this year’s greatest advances at NC.
