During the halftime of the N.C.-Richland game, the crowning of the Queen, Donna Abrams, added to the excitement of a hard fought game. The gymnastics club was also very active, performing for both the senior high and junior high Awards Day programs and for the Fine Arts Festival. Members of the gymnastic team traveled to Indiana University and spent a day working with the college team.
