istory Early in the 1950's North Caddo High School had its inception in the minds of several forward-looking citizens. They envisioned in the union of seven neighboring schools, one greal institution fostering intercommunity spirit, new horizons for some iso- lated groups, widened scholastic and cultural ad- vantages through collaboration, and opened-up ave- nues for future life-long friendships Amid some local opposition North Caddo High School became a reality in the fall of 1955. The first months witnessed administrative officers, facul- ty, and students struggling with this new commu- nity nucleus to provide a school spirit that was destined to become whole-heartedly warm and friendly. Each succeeding year the glow of inter- community respect and good-will increased in its ' so that today in 1961 North Caddo High a worthy memorial to those early ex- consolidation. In the realms of sports, larship, and character the personnel of North Caddo High School are command of the growing admiration of observers. Students from our school have been doing well in the colleges of the state and elsewhere, many graduates entering the profes- sions of medicine, teaching, religion, and the busi- ness world. urpose Southern Accenters Meg Williams and Mar- garet Broussard prepare Jo sell Xmas wrap- pings and bows. The ultimate aim of our school is to develop boys and girls into good citizens who will fill creditable places in the several communities they represent. Such purposefulness is promoted from various purposes. Among the latter is the school paper, which under careful leadership, enlists the discriminating intelligence of both faculty advisor and staff members. Its workers are stimulated to practice integrity and fairness in presenting the news. Contributions of the band and the choral groups to the general pur- pose of our school are far-reaching and meaningful. Not only do they develop student appreciation of the art of music and accomplishment in the skills involved, but they serve as ties strongly linking the com- munities because all the world loves music. Isn't the table pretty with the trophies given on Awards Day? Jim T.
