 Fun and frivolity has its place in the sun at NCHS. Such gala occasions may have run the gamut of the hilarious to the serious but all in approved patterns of fun. The winter sea- son brought out the beauty pageant when the lovelies of NC met in competition for the school's beauties where judges and audiences were baffled to make choices. Now also came the long-to-be-remembered beauty contests when certain alluring males displayed their charms and grace to rollicking Key Club audiences. Who, too, can forget the joyous laughter of the students when on occasions the faculty and administra- tive officers chose to pit their athletic abilities against one an- other, and against more youthful contenders? What fun, too, to recall the time when Maestro McCluggage and Coach Sigrest indulged in their pantomimic feast. Who, furthermore, will fail to remember the delightful associations gained from pre- paring for and participating in the annual holiday dances and class picnics. Finally need we remind ourselves of the talent shows and the class plays when budding performers offered their histrionic and musical abilities hitherto perhaps untapped! Truly the days of 1960-61 were our gala days! 1959-60 Softball Champs ala Days Boy!!! These fellows were really hungry—Coach and The Maestro.
