The Superintendents, the Board of Education, the Principals, and the Guidance Counselors all come under the title of Administration. These members of the Administration are united by the common goal of making our school system the best possible, yet, they each have separate responsibilities in reaching this goal. The Superindentents and the Board of Education may be thought of as our school system's policy makers, but their job is actually more extensive. They deal with student, social, and educational problems, and resolve them. The Principal, Mr. Salvatore, and the two Assistant Principals, Mr. Hann and Mr. Zorn, are the administrators stationed in the high school. They deal with the immediate problems that arise during the school day. Mr. Hann handles any disciplinary problems, and Mr. Zorn is in charge of all the student activities. The Guidance Counselors are administrators who deal directly with students. They aid the students with their course selection and help solve any problems which may occur during the year. Once the academics are taken care of the students can become involved in a number of after school sports activities all co-ordinated bv Mr. Locascio. He organizes a number of different sports for each season, and then arranges schedules with other schools both within and outside. of our conference. So, as a whole, the Administration is a group of hard working people aiding the North Brunswick School System, but it is also comprised of individuals working at their individual assignments to make our high school the best possible. I do not mean to fill his requirements in this letter to you. My hope is that I can convey my feelings and, perhaps , Steinbeck's at graduation time. If there is a truth I believe in, then it is probably that life and society run in cycles. Rigid discipline is the way it was when I was your age. Love, Duty, Respect for Mom and Dad, Respect for the Flag and Love for our Country were the order of the day. Time has passed since Iwas a boy, and with no regret I watched the pendulum swing from strict discipline to a greater freedom of choice and then back to more and more accountability for what we say and, more importantly, for what we do. Steinbeck also wrote that as Americans . . .we are restless , dissatisfied, a searching people, we spend our time searching for security yet hate it when we get it . As Americans,we have been blessed with the simplicity and magnificence of freedom. Because we have so much, we constantly question our good fortune. Like the child at Christmas , we open our presents with a voracious appetite only to survey our world a few days later and ask, Is that all there is? I do not know all that there is. Ido know that we, you and I, have been blessed with many things these last four years. We have learned, laughed and loved. We have experienced many happy times and a few that were sad. You have questioned us in so many of the things we have done, You are searching, You are rebellious, You are anxious. That anxiety surfaces in your enormous energy that wants to make things better. Steinbeck said, Wasted energy is a little problem compared with the lack of it . America will survive. We have the strength and restlessness of your youth. You have energy -- use it! You have learned -- build on it! You have laughed -- laugh again and again! You have loved -- never stop! Congratulations Good Luck God Bless You Sincerely, if Iames L.
