One of the newer clubs at North Brunswick is HEROS - Home Economics Related Oc- cupations. Mrs. Barnhardt is the advisor of the local HEROS chapter. These students belong to Mrs. Barnhardt's cooperat- ive home economics class. Co- operative vocational education students receive credit for on- the-job training as Well as class- work. The cooperative educa- tion students who are ambi- tious usually join HEROS. HEROS students conduct a va- riety of projects during the school year. They also take field trips to local businesses and industries to get a first- hand glimpse of their oper- ations.

Students interested in home economics and related activities are en- couraged to join the FHA club. The FHA chapter at N.B.H.S. conducts a variety of activities and projects during the school year. Also, one of the highlights is attending the district confer- ence. At a district event, stu- dents are able to meet students from area schools.

D.E. students study distribution and retailing as well as related subjects. The DECA club journeys annually to the district rally in the fall of each year. Those rallies provide students with an opportunity to develop both social and leadership skills. The DECA club conducts field trips and engages in Thanksgiving and Christmas projects. Mr. Melton also planned a skating party in early December.
