The daily tasks of youth, it's true Seem dull and eventless in style But diligence to a worthwhile task Will bring fruitful results in a while. Faith, work, hope, and strain: All part of a task well done. These are truths that all youth feel When they their battles have won. To youth who feel they have no work To while their days away. Remember and let your inspiration be: Important things are done day by day. Class Poet Frances Peeler Class Stistory In the month of July, 1958, on a warm summer day, a class of ninety- seven students came to North Brook High School. We soon became acquainted with each other and settled down to the enrichment of our lives. Under the expert care of Mr. Peeler and Mr. Heavner, we began to feel a more certain gait in our education. To assist us we elected Ronnie Beam - President; Linda Eaker - Secretary-Treasurer; Carolyn Lowe - Reporter. With eagerness we entered our Sophomore year; with the confidence we were beginning our mark of high school. With the guidance of Mr. Yount and Mr. Shelton, we soon elected officers. Linda Eaker - President; lanice Beam - Vice-President; Kay Willis - Secretary-Treasurer; Shasta Leatherman - Reporter. We had 80 students on roll. When we returned as Juniors, we had 69 students on roll. With the help of Mrs. Guess and Mr. Heavner we were very much aware of the responsibility placed upon us. We worked very hard getting ready for our Junior-Senior banquet. We presented our Junior play, They were that-away,” in April. This proved to be a very successful year. We elected our officers as: Presi- dent, Ronnie Beam; Vice-President, Gary Yount; Secretary, Margaret Miller; Treasurer, Lib Leonhardt; Reporter, Becky Beam. Returning to our final year in August 1960, there were 48 students guided by Mr. Shelton and Mr. Heavner as our sponsors. With our heads held high, we set out to reach the climax of our school days which we began twelve years ago. The class of '61 has enjoyed publishing the '61 edition of the BABBLING BROOK and LE SOUVENIR. As we are finishing this last year of high school, we are seriously think- ing of the future. We remember our past years with tears in our eyes, yet with joy in our hearts. Tears to show we are sorry that our school days are over but yet there is joy in our hearts because we have finally reached the goal for which we have been striving. As we, the class of '61, realize that we are emerging into a new phase of life, we proudly but yet sadly receive our diplomas. Last Wil and Sestament We, the '61 Senior Class of North Brook High School, being of sound mind and body, do make and declare this our Last Will and Testament. - - .
