Teacher of the year 1966 Mr. Gary Sutton When the prized award of Teacher of the Year was named as Mr. Gary Sutton, Band Instructor; Mr. Sutton looked as happy as he does in this picture. Mr. Sutton has been at North Branch for eight years and he has had eight wonderful bands. His Marching Bands, Twirlers, Concert Bands, Ensemble groups have all been of the best. He has the upmost admiration and respect of all students. Mr. Sutton has spent many, many hours after school helping students to better themselves by supervising their practice. He has taken students to Interlocken and during the summer of 1965, he took two bus loads of students and chaperones to play at the World's Fair in New York City. In 1965, Mr. Sutton made it possible for a student, Miss Sherry Smith, to travel to Europe with the All Student Band, U.S.A. During the summer of 1966, Miss Suzanne Graham also made this trip to Europe with the All Student Band, U.S.A. We are sure no better choice would have been made for Teacher of the Year than Mr. Gary Sutton. 9
