Two political parties were formed; the Progressive Uniteen and the Students' Rights. Posters announcing the candidates from each party were seen everywhere in the corridors; feelings ran high. This election was sponsored by the National Honor Society. The newly elected members were announced at half- time at the football game homecoming night. 13 AMERICAN DEMOC- RACY IN ACTION!

HOMECOMING PARADE The Faculty float A winning Team was a new entry in the Homecoming Parade, the largest ever in N.B.H.'s history. The Freshmen, winning 3rd prize, called their float Blast off to Victory. September twenty-eighth was an exciting day as our annual Homecoming Parade, sponsored by the National Honor Society, took final form. The Sophomore float Whale Em' won first prize. The huge whale was one of the 23 entries. Floats in the parade were entered by many town businesses and active high school clubs. The Senior float Expectin' Victory (above) won second prize. It depicted a huge stork in a cradle. The Junior class paid homage to the Seniors with their float A Salute to the Seniors.
