He was active in three sports: football, basketball and baseball and received letters in football and basketball. The year will leave its pleasant memories and its regrets. On the brighter side will be the Homecoming in which their float won first prize, the dance following the game at which Ellen reigned, the semi-formal Christmas dance, the Junior Prom and the Senior Class Play. The year ended with a trip to New York City with forty-five seniors boarding the bus in front of the school and Mr. and Mrs. Packard accompanying the class. Whether you were a junior, senior, or sophomore, the annual Christmas dance, sponsored by the Junior Class was considered a huge success. THE JUNIOR PROM OF 1962 The theme of the Junior Prom of '62 was Some Enchanted Evening. The gymnasium was beauti- fully decorated as a Tahitian island, complete with palms and a grass hut for the orchestra. Potter's Band were the occupants of the hut. It was a memorable evening for everyone. In the foreground of the picture is Mr. and Mrs. Vincent enjoying themselves to the Hawaiian music. Besides this, they won 72 first-place medals in District competition at Flint Daly Junior High and 72 first-place medals in State competition held at Pontiac Northern High in Pontiac. Along with these medals they will re- ceive a first-division plaque for Dis- trict and a first-division plaque for State competition. N.B. Jr. High was one of 6 Class C bands in the state of Michigan to receive a first and the only Class C in District 3 to receive a first. THE VARSITY CLUB The Varsity Club has been very active this year. It has been the aim of the club to perform services for the school, to set an example of good citizenship and high standards, and to earn money with various activities to help pay for expenses of the athletic department. The Homecoming was one of the most important events of the year. Also, they sponsored an alumni basketball game, a donkey baseball game and assisted at all assemblies.
