CLASS HISTORY FRESHMEN We opened our Freshman year of 52 with 119 students. We were initiated by the Sophomores as Green Freshmen. The class was auctioned off on a platform and sold as slaves, by the pound. At our Annual School Fair we had the Style Show which started our first savings toward our Senior Trip. Freshman sponsors were Mr. Thomas and Miss Stark. Our class officers were, President—Jack Wnuk, Vice President—Jerry Castle, Treasurer—Bob Stuewer, Secretary—Barbara Rexin. Our year ended with success and we were all ready for our summer vacation and looking toward school in the fall. SOPHOMORES School started on August 31 of 1953 with 112 Sophomores. During the year Dick Rhein, Robert Baldwin, and Andy Schriber registered into the Sophomore class. Later in the year these pupils dropped out: Dick Rhein, Ann Dalby, Nancy Akers, Don Smith, Nancy Bays, Robert Baldwin, Marion Smith, Tom Pope, Donna Kennedy, Elsie Cichoracki, and Richard Rumph. Our Sophomore sponsors for that year were Mr. Thomas and Miss Meisel. Class officers were: Anson Stelmak— President, Max Hollenbak—Vice-President, Pat Heron—Secretary, Rosemary Adams—Treasurer. We participated in our School Fair on October 6, with a refreshment stand which helped out our treasury. It was also our privilege to sponsor the Talent Show on April 10 that proved quite successful. JUNIORS Our Junior year began under the sponsorship of Mr, Taylor and Miss Banks with 103 Juniors and ended up with 94 at the close of the year. Don Batchelor, Dick Senko and Richard Rumph added to our class during the year. On October 28 which was an exciting day for us because we were to order our class rings from the class ring man. We received them on February 18 with much delight. During the year we sponsored the Sadie Hawkins Dance, Junior-Senior Prom in honor of our graduating Seniors of 1955, and our Junior Play on March lit Cupid in Pigtails —a big hit in comedy. We helped in the School Fair with a cake walk and ended the year very happy, knowing that we were to be the Seniors of 1956. SENIORS School started in August of 55 with 92 Seniors with the loss of Dick Senko. We were the largest gradu ating class so far in history of North Branch School. Senior Sponsors of the year were Mr. Taylor and Miss Banks who did a very good job in sponsoring our activities. Our class officers were Seth Griffen—President, Jack Wnuk—Vice-President, Bob Stuewer—Treasurer, and Frank Margriff—Secretary. In October we had our School Fair and we had a dance to help us out. On November 9-10 we had our pictures taken. December 9 was the day of our Senior Play, Hillbilly Weddin. We had our Mardi-Gras on April 6 with a King and Queen to reign over it.
