LtjiiiflQ,i?QLfT 'l1f fiftf5ll E47 L E W A I N l 9 2 6 Q-I Girls' Basketball 2 The girls' basketball team did not have a chance to play out their schedule because of the vaccination. In the first game with Tolt, the girls lost by one point, Had all the members of the team been able to make the trip, there is no doubt but that they would have won. The other teams, except Tolt, having been vaccinated too, were unable to play for some time, so the coaches met and decided to dis- continue the schedule for the remainder of the year. Tolt, having won the game with North Bend previously had the highest percentage, so they represented this end of the Valley in the championship game. The North Bend girls had a very good chance to win the champion- ship as they had the strongest and fastest team in recent years. Alice Lake, Coach. North Bend 54-Issaquah ll The season opened on January 7 with a game with Issaquah at Fall City. The North Bend girls had their plays in good working con- dition and easily defeated their opponents, the score being 54-11 at the close of the game, North Bend 65--Duvall 5 The Lewains journeyed to Tolt on January 16 in order to play Duvall. The girls easily won-the score speaks for itself. North Bend 38-Fall City 8 The next game was played on January 21 with Fall City on the home floor. Although a little over-confident, the Lewains defeated the weaker Fall City team 38-8. North Bend 9-Tolt 10 The North Bend sextet met its defeat of the year at the hands of Tolt at Duvall on January 28. The team was at a disaldvantage owing to the illness of two of the members of the team. The game was a close race from beginning to end and Tolt's notorious guards were at their best, Page tl: 1'rty-seven
