7 LEW AIN 1926 ps.:1fgj,fefss: -iagggjs -ijfifsf Sophomore History We entered North Bend High School in the fall of 1924, a bit bashful, but with high hopes for the future. We drew a breath -of relief, however, when the Initiation was over and no one was seriously injured, and started immediately to take our part in the activities of the school. We purchased a pennant of the class colors and hung it in the study hall, with the wrath and indignation of several dignified Seniors who proceeded to show us their contempt of our banner by pinning it to the town jail. It was recovered, however, and hidden until we displayed it on Kid's Day in a short play, to the astonishment of the upper classmen, who evidently thought they had seen the last of our banner some weeks before. Parties were exchanged by the Sophomores and Freshmen in which all enjoyed themselves immensely. With numerous sales we were also able to raise our quota of 3515 for the Annual fund before any of the other classes. Behold! We are now Sophomores, with another step taken toward the coveted goal of graduation, The initiation of the incoming Freshmen was a complete success, the Freshies being given a good dose of electricity to furnish them with pep for the coming years. We gave the Freshmen a party which they returned by entertaining us with a de- lightful little Cupid's Frolic held at the home of Mr. Dimmitt. Through various hot-dog sales we endeavored to raise the amount for our space in the annual this year. On the eighth day of April we gave a delicious Chicken Dinner which was enjoyed by everyone and was the main source of money for our annual fund. Our class members have been increased from ten to sixteen, which gives a decided advantage over last year's class. We were the first class to get our annual quota of S45 again this year. In our two coming years we intend to maintain a high standing in our classes, and to do our bit for the good of Old North Bend High, Page twenty-siim'
