. 1948 HESPERIA TRIPLETRIO The Trrple Trao was orgamzed from a Sextet m 1945 by Mlss Athev The quahflcatlons are Must be a nember of the Glee Club be at all of the practlces be able to read muslc and be ready to Slng on short notrce So far thas vear the grrls have sung for B P VV Krwanxs P 'I A Model Show Mmlsternal ASSOCIHIIOH umor Prom bes1des the school programs There are mne regular members and two substltutes for each group Although the group had a late start because GIRLS GLEE CLUB The Glee Club has grown raprdly smce last year The constltutron has been drawn up and officers w1ll le elected each year An operetta The Forest Prmce was to be given m early sprmg but was cancelled due to Mlss Irlene Xtheys rllness Mrs Margaret McCoy acted as sub s xtute m tructor durmg her absence The Girls entered the d1str1ct Musrc Festxval and also gate a Sprmg Concert of lVl1 s Athey s lllness thex are domg very well ADVANCED BAND The Band thrs year consrsts of 57 members They began the season by travehng to Myrtle Pomt to play at the faxr Durrng the half at football games they pre sented marchmg formatlons the most outstandmg of whlch was done rn blackout wrth l1ghts on tlaelr caps They marched 1n the Chrxstmas Prelude presented a Sprmg Concert rn Apr1l and played ln the Musrc Fes tlval at Coos Bay They also performed for basketball games and assembly programs throughout the year Ima Lee Daw: MUSIC FESTIVAL RATIINGS The Trxple Trlo Boys Chorus and Wanda Boyn ton twlrler of the Muslc Department are quallfled to go to Eugene for the state contests because of thelr lugh ratmgs The Trxo and Wfanda each rated one nd the Bots Chorus two The Festlxal was held ln hlarslalleld THE BEGINNERS BAND The Beginners Band under the supervlslon of Mr Howley has at present eleven members The purpose of the orgamzatlon IS to prepare students who have just started on an 1nstrument for the Advanced Band The band was larger at the f1rst of the year but some of its members have been promoted to the advanced grou 9 f K , .
