C7121 chfis for The mommg was sharp wxth the fnrst buds of autumn That September m 1944 When wrth reluctance and trembhng Another class of lowly Freshmen At the ponderous doors of North Bend Hugh Drd appear But twas an ordinary class this Who our ftrst year ended covered wlth glory Splrlted away we that coveted cxtlzenshlp trophy And actxve more were we rn every way Than any dull Freshmen before us But also we were commltted To the vxlest of tortures ever given mrtnates Through all such tnals of Freshman Week Came we With strength and forbearance So xt was that our Sophomore year Found us a verltable dynamo Of energy Every dnve and charrty fund Was backed by us we won our merits Frghtmg for our quota We backed the Cancer Fund Forelgn Axd and March of Dxmes too To the Red Cross was not dented a healthy contrlbutxon That year lf not by any other we blazed our path of glory Bonds were sold to and constructxon Of the grandstands Which helped to make our athletlc fleld One of the finest m the State Leaders were we an the sale of those bonds XVh1ch upped our Student Bodys funds As September and Indlan summer Once agam rolled around We could hardly belxeve rt was tnme for school And a year as upperclassmen Student Body offxces found The Tumor class wlth two Whrtey was NICE president Fem Lyon kept the mmutes Actlve also ln Glrls League was Secretary loyce Carver And xt was thls year too that Pat Foley Became mterested rn matters of fmance As treasurer of the League That year found several of our meml ers Inltlated formally as Charters In the flrst chapter of the ulll and Scroll That old N B H S had known More and more among our boys Iettermen began to appear In football basketball And track Not to be outdone The girls Won the volleyball tournament wrth prlde The H A S was actne putting on a carnlsal And the grandstands were fmxshed ln a grand Dedication ceremony Xvhtch thanked townspeople students and parents For thetr able co operat1on Santa Claus found our class Tl Chr: tm program sponsors Full of Yuleude sprnt and boundmg wrth good cheer The chmax of thas our ultra7soc1al year Was the annual umor Seruor Banquet And Prom all rolled mto one Such a group of hustlers the lrke was ne er seen before As we slaved the year through To fmance that one grand mght of fun The Balboa was the appornted spot To quote the mvltatlons And Colonlal was the theme T rxed chlcken melted into the mouths of all As we sat formally arranged at tables Bv the cheery chucklmg fxreplace And as the evemng tlcked away The orchestra played dnvxnely forcmg trred feet to dance And at twelve oclock s The umors never to be forgotten Prom X as over for another year And perhaps that graduatlon night lor the Class of 47 Found some of our ranks a tremble For the followmg school year s endmg It truly was a mlghty class That strode the halls on the opemng l y of school the fall of 47 And we preened ourselves with pnde Before admxrmg Freshmen And gave them a vengeful mmatlon So that our true mlght would be known ut those Frosh we know they forgave us the night of the Semor Frosh Receptlon or we gave them quite a party make amends for all Student Body officers found Hardcastle Cur whxte halred boy as presldent And Pat Gallxa and Foley as 9 fret rx and treasurer respectlvely Grrls League was headed ably Bv President Barbara Pasquan who won the D And p00gl8 Young was vlce presrdent Whlle Donna Anderson was scribe December found us busy For twas our joyful duty to sing In the Community Christmas Parade And that month too we gave our Senxor Ball Wlth the nch and resplendent theme Of Wlnter Wonderland Thesplans always We had actively taken part In Student Body plays untxl this very last year When we gave that comedy ACC1dChfS Will Happen As our wltty Senior Play Throughout the year we combmed our talents In athletics debate and music Bobby Hugh was captam of the basketball team And ohn Makey headed the football crew Lack of brams was not our lot For Jerry Pame led them all as class Valedxctonan Whnle Fem Lyon a wxttv one too came tn close As Salutatonan 7 !
