B' 1947 HESPERIA F BOYS OCTETTE Left to right front row Mlss Athey Frank Ford Dxck Frost Thomas Ferguson Vernon Ellis Back row Don a Perkms Brran McDonald, Robert Frederzckson Keith Krambeal BOYS GLEE CLUB The Boys G1 e Club one of North Bend Hxghs newest subjects has been very active this year ust before the Chnstmas vacatlon they sang before an Amerxcan Legxon Auxrlxary meetmg and a Klwarus Gub noon luncheon Later they sang for the Coos Bay Elks T e h1gh spot of the year was the Glee Club Concert m whrch they partrcrpated T e Senior play Student Body play radlo programs and assembly programs are other actrvxtles for whlch they sang In previous years Glee Club was taken as extra-currxcular actxvrty and counted no credxts but this year rt IS a subject and a student recexves two credits The members of the group and the part they smg are Don Per-kms and Frank Ford tenors Ken Stobre Duck Frost Tom Ferguson basses The ype of songs they have been smgmg are Negro spxrltuals sem: classxcal and popular THE FRESHMEN GIRLS DOUBLE SEXTET The Freshmen Gxrls Double Sextet 15 a new vocal group formed thus year under the dlrectlon of Miss Irlene Athey The nucleus of thus group was earned over from Roosevelt umor I-hgh Although nearly all of therr practxces were held after school the members were farthful and worked hard They sang for two Gxrls League meetmgs and for two assemblies They gamed expenence rn radxo work by smgmg over three of the hxgh school radno programs One of these programs was guven entnrely by them At the Vocal Department Concert m Aprrl they presented a group of two numbers GLEE CLUB Thrs year the Glee Club has been orgamzed xnto a credxtable penod Prevxous years practxce was held dunng the acuvnty penod The Glee Club smgs ln assemblies for hohday programs for some of the school plays for Baccalaureate and Gradu atxon It also jhas its own sprmg concert held thxs year on the 27th of March The glrls have practlced school yells ln ham-tony also they have made and sold brown and gold pompoms at the games On February 14 the Glee Club gave a dance the proceeds of whxch wrll be used for some much needed lmprove ments ld l , . , , . , 7 D Y ' 7 ' h ' I 1 n 1 n . h . , , . , . . . . . . . q . - Q I 1 1 Robert Fredrickson and Bud Lodwick, second tenorsg Brian McDonald and Keith Krambeal, barltonesg Vernbn Ellis and
