For Devotion We Dedicate There are many teachers.. .there are many administrators. Some are remembered for many years and never forgotten. Some are forgotten quickly. Mr. Harold Bechtel is one member of the professional corps of edu- cators who is well-liked by his students and fellow teachers, who is a good counselor to his students, graduates as well as those still in school, and is a teacher who will not be forgotten. His image is buried deep in the hearts of those whom he taught. For twenty-seven years Mr. Bechtel has taught students of North Baltimore. Previously he taught at Liberty, Rudolph, where he was fifth and sixth grade teacher, as well as elementary principal, Wayne and Hammansburg. Coaching played an important part in Mr. Bechtel’s career. At Wayne he taught junior high basketball, coached at Liberty High School, and coached high school girls and boys’ basketball at Hammansburg. At North Baltimore Mr. Bechtel coached junior high basketball, high school football, basketball, baseball, and track. In addition to his high school duties at North Baltimore, Mr. Bechtel has taught eighth grade math, high school math, and industrial arts. Harold is a graduate of Bowling Green State University with a B.S. degree in education. During World War II he attended Air Corps School at Lowry Field, Denver, Colorado, and received a diploma after completing work concerning the bomb sight and automatic pilot. Mr. Bechtel is also a graduate of North Baltimore High School. To this dedicated educator, Harold Bechtel, who has given so many years to the North Baltimore Schools, to this friend of the students and faculty, to a man of great honor and integrity, and a fine example for others to follow, the Annual Staff sincerely dedicates this book.
