ADMINISTRATION SEWELL CAMERON Mr. Cameron has been teacher, principal and superintendent of schools for twenty-four years. During the past three years he has been superintendent of the North Baltimore School. Among his many duties as superintendent are securing school em- ployees and assigning of each, with Board approval. The most im- portant part of his job is seeing that the school policies are car- ried out properly and effectively. Mr. Cameron received his B.A. degree from Bowling Green State University and his M.A. from Miami University at Oxford,Ohio. He also took work at Indiana University. Our school board consists of five members who arc elected in general elections every four years, and a clerk who is employed by them. The board is responsible for setting up our school policies, employing school personnel and keeping the school budg- et in proper condition as well as making many other decisions concerning the operation and development of our school. Dr. William Calderhead, Mr. Elmore Smith, Dr. Edwin Lloyd, Mr. Melvin Fleckner, Mrs. Charles Kelley Mr Delmont Brown NOT PICTURED. 4 Mr. Atkins, our liigh school principal, has many duties. Among them are keeping all attendance records, writing absence excuses, compiling citizenship grades, making many diffeient kinds of con- tracts for the school and acting as official representative of the school on many occasions. Along with the above duties he is sponsor of the senior class and advisor to the Annual Staff. He received his BA degree from Fairmont College and his ME degree from Bowling Green State University. Mr. Atkins came to North Baltimore from Carey High School where he had taught for nine years. This is his first year in administration. At Carey he was head of the coaching staff. He teaches general science and biology along with his administrative dutires. MEARL R. She started out as an elementary teacher and then spent eight years teaching English and Ohio history in the junior high school. Miss Miller re- ceived her BS degree in elementary education from Bowling Green State University and a degree in remedial reading from Chicago University. The secretary, Mrs. Charles Lloyd, is one of the busiest persons at school. It is her duty to see that all the records of the school arc kept in balance. Sondra Freeland CLASS HISTORY Forty-nine bright students entered their freshmen year at dear, old North Balti- more High School in 1953, a small number compared with the seventy students who first enrolled in the first grade. Freshmen class officers elected were; Wayne (Guy) Mauk, President; Judy Walter, Vice-President; Rodney Monasmith, Secretary; Ann Mullholand, Treasurer. Our first attempt to earn money towards our Senior Trip took place in our sopho- more year. We sponsored a round and square dance which was very successful. The officers elected for that year were: Karen Troutner, President; Raymond Chapman, Vice-President; Doris Ferguson, Secretary; Ann Mullholand, Treasurer. The junior year was a very busy one, beginning with our efforts to earn more money by operating the concession stands. These stands were always managed at the football and basketball games. We also sponsored bake sales, a carnival and presented the junior play, And Yet Another Tomorrow, directed and written by a science teacher, Mr. T J. Parent. We also took a field trip to visit the Capitol at Columbus. To end the year in splendor we entertained the seniors in Candyland, the theme of the Junior-Senior Prom. The officers elected for that year were: John Hungerford, President; Judy Walter, Vice-President; Raymond Chapman, Secretary; Ann Mullholand, Treasurer. When we entered our final year, more money-making projects were carried on including cake raffles, coat checks, turkey raffles, a car wash, another bake sale, an- other carnival, and the senior play, The Absent-Minded Professor, which was under the direction of our first semester English teacher, Mrs. Pauline Bonhard. During this year Sonja Roberts was elected as Homecoming Queen with her attendants, Louise Brown and Sondra Freeland. Officers elected for this year were; Malcom Cameron, President; Judy Walter, Vice-President; Virginia Hemminger, Secretary; Ann Mull- holand, Treasurer. The Senior Trip was fun and educational; but we all knew that when the trip was over, it would bring Baccalaureate and Commencement—which came, too soon! In conclusion we can say that our class proved to be rather successful socially, scholastically, individually, and athletically. 24 Larry Andrews David Apple Linda Apple Ted Bhaer Tom Boney Ray Brumbaugh Mary Buchanan Margie Bundy Sandra Campbell Guy Carleton Keith Conrad Iona Crouse Jay Dodge Arthur Emahiser Joyce Erford Roger Freeland Jim Gerdeman Roxie Griffith Karl Haley Merl Heaster Phyllis Heminger Roxie Hutson Ed Kelley Margaret Kovach Larry Krouse Terry McGann Walter McKinnis Roberta McLaughlin Carl Meyer Norma Moberly Jon Myers Francis Neier Shirley Nungester William Parker Judy Pelton Ron Rader Maxine Reichenbach Sharon Roberts Wayne Rush Helen Sesok Judson Trout. .
