Foreword The words of an Alma Mater should be an almost ineffable expression of truth and honor and knowledge and unity and growth. An Alma Mater should typify the atmosphere of a school, with a scope and depth and intensity that would be unattainable in prose. In so portraying the inner spirit of a high school, an Alma Mater reveals the widely divergent and yet harmonizing personalities of the students and the faculty.
