Mathematzcs Although brevity of space prevents us from cataloguing all that is excellent in the mathematics department, certainly typ- ical of its general high quality is the ad- vanced placement mathematics class con- ducted by department chairman Mr. Nicholas Ambrosiano. Begun in the tenth grade as an experimental class composed of students whose interest in math made them willing to meet every morning prior to the regular school day, the pres- ent advanced class is just one more ex- ample of North Babylon High School's determination to serye all students by pro- viding an enriched program whenever one is required. MR. NICHOLAS AMBROSIANO Area Coordinator, Math II, Elementary Algebra, Ad vanced Placement Math, Math Club Advisor ADVANCED PLACEMENT MATH CLASS MISS MARGARET MICCICHE Math 10, 11, Tennis Coach, Cheerleading Advisor Advanced Placement Math students Richard Meyer, William Shreiner, Roger La Rose, and Mark Spelman listen attentively as Mr. Ambrosiano explains one of the many complex problems they encounter throughout the year.

Language To understand all is to forgive allf' If this is so, then certainly one of the greatest instruments for peace is acquiring mastery of a foreign languageg for by this means one extends his sympathy to the people of at least one foreign nation. One learns not only how to speak their language, but also how to appreciate their customs and traditions. Such knowledge draws the world closer together by showing how we are all alike. MR.
