The effects of this activity do not stop with the few students to whom it gives an opportunity to prepare and deliver a formal speech but extend rather to the whole student body since it is another means of stimulating interest in history and an emotional appeal to a fuller appreciation of our price- less American heritage. Math Team Mr. Nicholas Ambrosiano, Math Club advisor, uses graph to illustrate a concept. Roger La Rose, Jim Larsen and Mark Spelman carefully check completed problem to make sure it is correct. Under the guidance of Mr. Nicholas Ambrosiano, a number of North Babylon's astute mathema- ticians have been brought together to form the nucleus of the Math Team. The students belonging to the Math Team compete in interscholastic meets in which points are given for the number of problems correctly solved by each school in a limited amount of time. Headed by Mr. Raymond Kobielski. some students belonging to it researched for the project The Determination of the Terminal Amino Acid of a Proteinffwhile other students under Nlr. Mahoney did work on hstudies in Protozoologyf' These scientific endeavors were presented to the Scientific Congress of the Seminar in Science Projects, offered by the renowned Waldemar Medical Research Foundation. The students involved did a commendable job on their projects and sacrificed a great deal of their free time in order to achieve this end.
