the Home Ee Department and the Library Are Assets to the School The phases of home economies may vary from fashions to hair styles. to cooking. The girls enjoy experimenting with food and sewing problems and studying ways of saving time and money. ln the third-year Class. they study advanced sewing and cooking. Also. they take part in interesting discussions on home and social life. The State Fair in Columbia ollfers a great deal in the way of helpful information to the FHA students. who attend the joint meeting of the Future Homemakers and the Future Farmers of South Carolina. wg. The library is the informational center around which much of the program of the school revolves. The atmosphere is friendly and informal. Students are encouraged to develop the 'clibrary habitwe-to browse and explore, to solve research problems, to read for information. recreation, and inspira- tion. Teachers and students participate in the selection of all library materials because they are chosen to meet the needs of the curriculum, reading interests, and abilities.
