BACKPACKERS GET HIGH ON MOUNTAINS The Backpacking Club was formed last year for the pur- pose of enjoying the wilderness together, and for just plain fun. So far, the club has succeeded in both. THE FRENCH CONNECTION The Norte Vista French Club (1977-78) is making tracks to create a French experi- ence for its members. From room 38 they venture into the far reaches of Ports O ' Call, charter a private jet (courtesy of Alvord Airlines) for a special screening of a French Film in Beverly Hills, even sail the ocean in the Vice President ' s yacht . And if the club can ' t get there, room 38 is transformed- as in the case of Mardi Gras and the Carnava! de Nice , or a winter fondue party in the French Alps . All of this is great experience for tvk ' o members in particular, Vicki Farmer and Sandy Ruse, who will be going to Europe this summer.
