DRILL TEAM TURNS JAZZ Drill shows their talent in a pep rally. The Norte Vista Drill Team had a great year. The squad, which has turned jazz, was more in- volved than ever this year. They participated in pep rallies, football halftime shows, and parades. They marched in such band reviews as the Colton Band Review, in which they took fifth, the Lester Oaks Memorial Band Review, where they grabbed fourth, Disneyland, Magic Mountain, Mission Viejo, and the Riverside 500. The 19-member squad was headed by Leader Diane Moore, 1st Assistant Juliann Gyll, 2nd Assistant Alice Woodard, and Advisor Kathi Zelt. The team also had officers this year. They were: Diane Scott-President, Lisa Walters- Vice President, and Dottie Hayes, who acted as a combined Secretary-Treasurer. Norte Vista ' s new jazz Drill Team also had a new look to them. Their uniforms changed from vest and skirts to a new Brave uniform. Also, the team went into City Competition and did well with All Shook Up and Boogie Night . BRAVE ON THE WAR-PATH The mascot for the ' 77- ' 7 school year is Donna Morris. She is a Junior. Donna represented Norte Vista at City Competition. She enjoyed her year as mascot and hopes to be on pep squad next year. Donna did a terrific job as the Brave mascot. Mascot- Donna Morris SOPH-FROSH SHOW PRIDE The Soph-Frosh Cheerleading squad had six members. They partici- pated in competitions such as City, Saddleback, and State. They showed lots of spirit and pride in their routines. Two members at- tended Hibbard ' s Camp. They participated in all pep rallies and had a good year. Donna cheers with the crowd. HEY!
