The activities gained points to see which class held the most spirited at Novi. The Juniors showed their superior spirit by taking first place while the very spirited Seniors grabbed second. Coming in a relaxing third were the Sophomores with their spirit and pride. The Freshmen came with a lot of spirited effort to take fourth. With a lot of participation and effort. She stayed one week, when she returned she brought back many new ideas. The yearbook staff also came up with alot more originality. The cover was a new idea featuring the noted indian actor Iron Eyes Cody. Many of us know him as the symbol for Keep America Beautiful. We also added four pages of color which is the most color in yearbook history. We also feel that the first sixteen pages contained many new techniques and original student poetry. We ' re very proud that this years advertising did more than their share. They not only met last years quota they exceeded it by more than 700 dollars, bringing the total to $2570.00. We were also able to do more things and take clubs to new places. This year yearbook sponsored an annual Sadi-Hawkins dance. We feel we ' ve done our very best. It taught you how to live. Don ' t forget it. Remember the people and the faces you were acquainted with, you may see them again in the future. Tomorrow is a place of unknown for everyone. Every step you take is one less you have at the end. So live each day fully. You may not get to do what you want later. Today is beautiful day. Don ' t spend it by planning what you ' re going to do to- morrow. Don ' t compare it with yesterday or you ' ll lose the meaning of both. Feel free to relax and enjoy because it may be the last you have. -Vicki Farmer Oh! Mr. Kopper How you can teach us so! Government is now my favorite class I always sit this low. The way you speak-FANTASTIC!!!!! The woras come as smooth as a lake. That cat never seems to get your tongue I wonder why my ears acne. The way you move at the chalkboard Such style, what grace! Without hesitation you strike out a word Do you mind if I cover my face???? Your homework assignments-too long? Don ' t worry-forget my fears. Besides, I don ' t nave anything planned For the coming five years. So Mr. Kopper I leave you. With memories not soon to pass. And when they say they ' re WW vets, I can say I ' m a vet from your class. -Thomas Buchanan 78 ft 147 NORTE VISTA SENIORS WIN The students who received the Bank of America Certificates were selected by the respective department teachers for outstanding work in the various fields of study. The sailors look of her weeping eyes. Her wails they hear, As she sleeps in fear. Forever more a lonely woman Who ' s tears are now only heard In the Poet ' s word. -Kim Melancon The Traveler The wind blows over the mountains And the wind blows through the Trees. And the wind tells stories of The world. So listen to the Breeze. It tells of flowers blooming And it tells about the gold In the sky. It tells of burning desert sands And of oceans dancing off The shore. It tells of mountains standing Proud And of mountains long before The wind has gone many places And has many still to go. So if you ever wonder- Just listen. I ' m sure the wind will know. -Howard Herbert Smiles As we walk down the hall and look around We see all sorts of people saying hello. Some of them are happy, some of them are sad Some are angry, some of them are glad. By some of their smiles it looks like They never have any problems. But by some of the others, it ' s like They ' re carrying the world on their shoulders. Some seem really glad to see you But others, it may only be a face Some don ' t even know you ' re there. They seem so far out in space. So, in conclusion, we ' d like to say To everyone far and near We hope you smile and be happy More than once a year. -Lucy Aviles Judy Beaudin 179 4 f VERTISING Outfits Courtesy Of Pam ' s Tyler Mall The Lo ierrci Ccimpu of LLU Patrons California Swiss Machine Inc. 132513 St. Andrews Place Santa Ana, Ca. 92507 Rays Auto Upholstery 8916 Cypress Riverside Cal. 92503 Best Wishes Jack Claudia Lighthall Joan Bennett 3285 Lemon Riv. A routine cycle as Freshmen come and Seniors go While they complete this, they mature and grow. As we grow and leave Novi behind, Red, White, and Black remain vivid in our mind. We ' ll remember Spirit Week and Homecoming, prominent events. That took place while behind Novi ' s fence. The horseplay and goofing off will always be there Along with the goal of success that we share. Although these events are long dead and gone. These memories live on inside our head.
