Here you see nine outstanding students . . . students which the yearbook staff, with the faculty's aid, have chosen outstanding. Outstanding because they have worked hard on many school activities, shown their ability to get along with others, and demonstrated fine scholastic ability. These students, now seniors, have led and represented the class of '59 and Norte since they were sophomores. They were not only leaders, but friends to all with whom they came in contact. lt is with great pleasure that we present the OUTSTANDING SENlORS of 1959. Rallies, dances such as the Senior Ball, assemblies, athletic contests, and numerous other school activities-this petite lass, BARBARA ABILA, could be seen actively working for Norte at any of the above activities. Barbara was never one to turn down a request by school groups or faculty members to work on one of Norte's activities during her three years here, and in her quiet way has contributed greatly to the spirit of Norte. As head yell leader for A and B teams, assistant varsity yell leader, rally member and senior yell leader, her smiling face was a familiar sight at Norte activities. Her efforts, as well as the others on these pages, are much appreciated. aw, Being friendly comes natural to NANCY BOYD. This trait has helped Nancy to be chosen as Football Princess and for such offices as Commissioner of Entertainment, Pres. of class as a Soph., and Rally. With imagination and creativeness about her Nancy developed new routines as Head Songleader, which helped to win the Sportsmanship Trophy. As Society Editor of the Jester, Nancy has been one of the most dependable and hard working Norte students. We hope you are as successful in the years to come as you have been here at Norte. CAROL COZlNE'S willingness to work and friendliness have made a great impression upon Norte's students and faculty. Carol demonstrated her fine ability to lead and get along with others while she served on Council, Rally, and as Head Songleader. She has given freely of her time and efforts to Norte's benefit. The people who have been associated with her greatly appreciate the many little things which Carol has done that are not often seen, such as working on dance decorations and clean-up committees. Norteans love to brag about their school and their wonderful student body and one name that should be included in every praise is T. W. JONES. From the name one may not realize the spirit and versatility of our boy Jones. But listening to him and watching his seemingly endless expressions reveals everything any statistic could relate. From Council Rep. at Large to Varsity baseball to Student Body Pres. in his final semester at Norte is a fine record that we all cheer and proudly add to Norte's list of outstanding accomplishments. May all the good things in the world fall at the feet of a most deserving senior, T. W. Jones. v .'lf1A,
