To reach this goal- and they most certainly did reach it-rehearsal after rehearsal was necessary. lt was not unusual to read in the bulletin that there would be an evening rehearsal. Every possible moment was de- voted to the perfection of the music and its presen- tation. , Mrs. Mary Downey Fluck A Cappella The debut of A Cappella Choir was at the assem- bly for Religious Education Week in which they sanctified the mood of the school with their touch- ing versions of Send Out Thy Light and Ave Verum Corpus. The next big event for the choir was the Christ- mas Pageant, whose theme was Christmas Every- where. Hearing the angelic voices from the foyer sing Angels We Have Heard on High made the audience relax into the spirit of the program which followed, including many old-time favorites. Dur- ing the evening performance one selection was sung with the Night School Choir, which really made everyone feel that Christmas Is Every- where. From January until April A Cappella Choir was again busy with rehearsals. Everyone worked hard to make the Choir's selections, sung at the annual Spring Music Festival, ones to be proud of. ln April A Cappella Choir sang at the University of Pennsylvania at a Schoolman's Week program. The choir was greatly honored by this engagement. ln May students from Norristown's Choir made a Slough, Young, A., Markley, Beyer, Evans, Rhoades, Smith, P. Adamson, Abney, Flick, Leeson, Strouse, Garber. Sisca, Dugan, Scotti, Detwiler, C., Rogers, Cressman, Gleaner. Jones, Seaman, Hadrick, Ginyard, Costanza, Fryer. Knerr, Eicherly, Hengen, Gleason, Danley, Damiani, Callahan, Tornett Choir fine representation at the Southeastern District Chorus. Yes, PERFECTION-this is what the A Cappella Choir accomplished this year. Every student wasn't an angel even though his voice could have passed for one. There was a lot to put up with, and the person that did it was the able director, Mrs. Mary Pluck. Her untiring patience and competent ability had a great part to play in perfecting the choir.
