To the Class of 1945 Greetings! When the sounds of war have passed away, America must help to create a world in which there shall he equality of opportunity and liherty lor every race and lor every people. ln that tremendously important worlc the voice of youth will he heard, whether they spealc or are silent. Never helore have there been young men and women who are so well Fitted by nature and trained by design to meet this great challenge. You go out to become a part of that body of youth of our land. Have you the self-reliance, the courage. the qualities of leadership and the vision to sup- port the movement that will bring a new era of peace and dignity to all manlcind? Sincerely, .fw Q u Students. Present and personal histories are recorded for you in this your hoolc. They have been so recorded in one form or another for the past hall century. Anniversaries are interesting provided one loolcs upon them only as a boundary ol' the past. If achievement in any field is to continue, time needs to lay down other mileposts ol the same lcind in the future. One thinlcer once defined space this way-Go, said he, to the end of space and there put a boundary. What have you on the other side of the fence?--Achievement needs to he like that. The past is something which we lcnow, and from which we can profit if we are wise enough. In the present we mark our boundary of the past. But on the other side of the fence lies the future'-fill it with achievements, so that the hlundering, bloody present will he only an ugly misshapen milepost. lvlan can live in peace, with cooperation and harmony. Help to create that world. 'x
