IIIETHIEH MESSAGE TO YOUTH: HE press and various college publications seem to take the atti- tude that youth today is the lost generation. l wish to say to you that the world today is only the people in itg the only world you will know is yourself, and that is where your better world must begin. Your only tool is yourself. Whatever compels or tempers you to overcome obstacles is your luckiest break. All you will ever get out of living is life. Your only ease in life will come from inner mastery. The world is your training field, and whatever you encounter in this field will be a shaper of char- acter. You live in a country where men with no capital but their character, their hands, their overalls, an IDEA, and an urge to serve have always had a wide field. Square your shoulders, lift your chin, cast your lot where youth of America has always cast it, on the side of those who give before they take, the creators and the builders, contributors of service and talent, whose reward is not what they take out of America but what they feed into it.
