I 0UI-t GOAL . . . WASHINGTUN! Our Freshman year was spent in getting ready to meet the challenge of four years of high school. In our sophomore year we started projects to finance our trip to Washington. We had a rummage sale in the Teen Town building. At the end of the year we purchased the bleacher seats from the class of 59. Renting these at basketball and football games gave us a good start. During our junior year we sold candy, baked goods, school sweat- shirts and newspapers. A car wash, candy raffle, and the junior play, the climax of that year, helped increase our funds for this trip. As seniors, we realized at the first of the year that our time was growing short, and a lot of hard work would be needed to complete our goal. We started out the year with bake sales and operated a stand at Dairy Day. Unfortunately, we lost our popcorn popper. Our refreshment truck, old whitey , helped our funds grow during football season. One of our more important projects, our magazine campaign took time and effort but developed salesmanship talent in the seniors. Tradi- tionally, the senior class received the profit from the coke machine and the refreshment stand at the basketball games. Our doll, Chatty Cathy , made a Christmas present for the lucky donor and accomplished one more step toward our goal. These years of work gave us not only our trip to Washington but also lessons in meeting difficult problems, getting along with and meeting people, and most important, working together. At last we reached our goal, but only with the help of the school, town, and last but not least, our parents. f ' ' NN 5 fx VE t iw, fi-f ff . r in if ' ff . ff ff I f . x I 6, ful, ' 5 . ' , , 1
