This is the first year Norris City has a full rounded athletic program. This full program of sports gives more boys a chance to participate in athletics. Football and Track were introduced in school this year along with our other two regular sports, Baseball aml Basketball. The basketball team was the best the school has seen in years, ending with a 21-6 record. Football in its first year passed all expectation and ended with a 2-2-1 record. The baseball team has all of the last yearss starting line-up back except one - ami no less than four boys are after that position. So, there seems to be a good future in store for Norris City baseball fans. The track team, in its first year since 1947, has great possibilities and should do well this year. UI U I1 Y .C -I-I IB

Coaches: Westphal, jones. Football Team Head football coach Westphal and assistant coach Iones did a tremendous job with the football team. Football is a rough sport, and the boys had to be in good condition for it. Every- body being in condition was a major factor in the games. The boys were nobody's push-over. Football is a team sport and without the cooperation of each player nothing could be accomplished successfully. Although the backs did most of the scoring, none of this could have been possible without our tough, hard-hitting line, the unknown heroes of the gridiron.
