GND CLASS PROPHECY 'is' CContinuedJ Did you say that Bobbie Beam is running a barber shop in Omaha now? I hear Sybil has made a profession of being a P. E. instructor at Gossett. Did you say that Robert Rainey is running a pool hall at Texas City now? I went into the beauty shop that Maggie Smith used to run and guess who is owner now, none other than Dorothy Edwards. Did you say something about Harold Hughes? Why, haven't you heard? He and Billie Whatley got married and he is minister at the Baptist church in Omaha. Did you know that Ruby Edwards and Paul Carroll are holding dancing classes in their studio over Brownie's Grill. Margie McKenzie's picture now adorns the boxes of Flubbo-Bubbo Dog Food, owned and operated by Tommy Mayberry. The Dwight Wheelers fshe is the former Lela Scottl, have finally settled down and are raising a family. Jane Henson has not settled down to any business but is giving the cold shoulder to people in Henson's Locker. Dona Moye and Bobby Holtzclaw have gone into a partnership running the Cut and Curl Shop. Jean Wicker is president of the Young Women's Club and travels over the country making speeches. Kenneth Burch has formed a Roving Wolves Club, and they paint the town red three times a week. James Alldredge just ran the world's first four minute mile, but they took away his trophy when they discovered he had on roller skates. Janice Millspaugh is now the star of the latest Broadway hit, The Saga of Honest John. Alice Austin has succeeded Mr. Phelps as Norris City superintendentg she has recently established an iron clad rule that no one can miss school for any reason whatsoever. Peggy Spence is busy preparing herself for being first lady of the nation. Emma Kennedy and Irene Pace are now famous for their invention of Kinky-Curl hair tonic, guaran- teed to curl your hair with one application. Mae Campbell writes a society column, Chatter Box for the Broughton Daily Blower. Evelyn Martin has located her dream man. He was carried in on a short stretcher to the Ditney Ridge hospital. Well, I guess I have gabbed long enough. See you at the Alumni dance. CARDINAL CAMPAIGN 'if In what proved to be one of the most successful Cardinal Campaigns ever staged, the Athenians emerged victorious by the score of 155 to 147. With great enthusiasm the campaign extended from January 16 to January 24. Speeches, pep talks, and tears were among the highlights, as the Guestonians, led by the co-editors, Kathleen Bryant and Sam Wallace, met gallant defeat. We must, however, extend congratulations to both groups for their fine spirit, sportsmanship and interest in making possible 1950's masterpiece, our Cardinal yearbook. - .Wir

ll QD I-T---ielfllj IE ICAIIQIDII NAIL- GTD CLASS PROPHECY 'Y Ring-a-ling, Ring-a-ling. Hello Norris City. Is that you Joann? This is Fonny. I was wondering where you were. Did you say Mary Jane Spence was working at the switchboard too? Does Betty Lou have a phone? She does. Would you ring her for me, please? Hello, is that you Betty? I just thought I would call you since I am at home visiting. I thought we could discuss what has 'become of our class these last ten years. How is your beauty shop making it? Did you know Carl Dean was married just two weeks after graduation? I saw in the paper where Bernard had made a very famous basketball coach and is back at N. C. H. S. teaching. I guess he liked basketball so well he had to make it his profession. I received a letter from Carolyn last week. She is proprietor of Harper's Meat Market. She said she had some new neighbors, Mr. and Mrs. Hedger, the former Audra Satterfield. They now have three little opossums running around. Did you say Vearl Lack was crew foreman at Texas Eastern, replacing his futher? And his secretary is Kathleen. I can understand why she doesn't need her Shorthand and can take dictation on the typewriter. Maybe it's because Vearl is so efficient at dictating. Oh, yes, Jack DeLap has gone into research trying to find out who was driving the Mule Train. The next time you are taking a trip toward Enfield, be sure and stop at Hea1y's Munch Mansion, where the former Novella Jones sells candy kisses. Are you planning on going to the Alumni dance at the High School? I heard the music was to be furnished by Philip Veatch's swing band with Sam Wallace as vocalist. Did you say Charley Davis now has his own radio program replacing Red Skelton? I see where Billy Gott is making his profession at culling chickens. We have a new studio in town, owned and operated by June Edwards. Did you say Darroll McArthy is having a grand opening of his skating rink this coming Saturday night? Do they still have a skating teacher every Wednesday night? Did you say Ruel Weas is the instructor now? While I was in Omaha visiting, I saw where Mrs. Nave, the former Ethel Mac Goforth has remodeled what sued to be Eaton's Cafe, and has made it into a Teen Town. Did you know Carl Dixon finally settled down to running the service station which is connected on to the Teen Town, and as his skilled mechanic he has Bobby Walters. While I was in Omaha I met Calvin on the street. He had just returned from one of his big game hunting trips.
