4 -lfll-Hli CAIDIIDIINAILE-'-L SENIOR CLASS HISTORY Just four short years ago 1n August of 1946, we entered the Norrls Clty High School wxth an enrollment of 77 whlch was one of the largest 1n recent years In the followmg year they remmded us of our greeness and we were well aware that we measured up to our name Green Fresh1es As our class offxcers we chose Sybxl Poole Presmdent, Kathleen Bryant, Vlce Presldent and Fon Edmonds Secretary and Treasurer We were represented on the Student Councxl by Bertha Edwards Ruel Weas and Helen Meredlth We had an up and commg star on the basketball squad Bernard Huges By our second year we had Improved a llttle and had become sllly Sophomores We weren't much better off but at least we could tease someone else now We chose for our Student Councxl members Carolyn Bruce Bernard Hughes and Kathleen Bryant We also chose some very rehable class officers Presxdent sfbll Poole V1cePres1dent Betty Bonham Secretary Jamce Mnllspaugh and Treasurer Wllma Haynes We were well represented on the basketball team by Bernard Hughes Tommy Mayberry, Paul Carroll and Carl Johnson The Cardmal hopes were lnsplred by our Sophomore cheerleaders Betty Bonham and Carolyn Bruce As Jumors we entered school wlth our enrollment decreased to 59 but It dld not dlscourage us from worklng for the prom We certalnly belleve the Seniors were pleased wlth our efforts Our class offlcers thxs year were Presmdent Sam Wallace Vxee Presldent Alxce and Ruel Weas represented us on the Student Councll We were represented on the basketball team by Bernard Hughes Harold Hughes Paul Carroll Carl Duron Carl Johnson and Verl Lack We were rlght ln there yelllng and glvmg them our support Wlth the help of our cheerleader, Betty Bonham Here we are, Semors at last' Our Journey has almost ended wlth our enrollment decreased to 48 Thxs year we chose Paul Carroll Presxdent B1ll1e Whatley Vlce Presldent, and Donna Moye Secretary and Treasurer We were represented on the Student Councll by Bernard Hughes Novella Jones, and Ruel Weas who IS presldent of the Councll In th1s, our Semor year we are stxll contrlbutlng talent to school actlvitles, on the basketball squad Bernard Hughes captam, Carl Johnson and Paul Carroll As a cheerleader we have Lela Scott 'is' , . . . . : .
